What is Team Purple’s raid philosophy?

At Team Purple, leadership is not about barking orders or flexing titles. It is about creating an environment where people feel supported, respected, and confident walking into raid each week.

We believe strong leadership starts with clear communication, consistency, and accountability. Our goal is to remove unnecessary friction so our raiders can focus on playing well, improving, and enjoying their time together. When everyone knows what is expected and feels safe asking questions, the team performs better and the atmosphere stays positive.

We lead with a collaborative mindset. Decisions are discussed, feedback is welcomed, and no one voice outweighs the health of the team. Progression is important to us, but never at the expense of respect or community. We value steady improvement, not burnout. We value teamwork, not ego.

We also understand that real life comes first. At the same time, we take our commitments seriously. Showing up prepared, on time, and ready to contribute is part of respecting your fellow raiders and the team as a whole.

Above all, we are committed to fostering a healthy, inclusive environment where people can grow as players and feel at home as members of the community. Team Purple is built on trust, mutual respect, and the belief that great progression happens when people genuinely enjoy playing together.

Team Leader and Founder

Sephorae Character Image

Name: ElkeWTF

Class: Priest

Role: DPS/Flex Heals

I have been playing World of Warcraft since Vanilla and started raiding during Wrath of the Lich King. Healing has always been what I love those most in raids. Priest is my class of choice. I love the responsibility that comes with supporting a team, reading the room, and keeping people standing when it matters most.

I am deeply involved in the Blizzard community and a longtime BlizzCon attendee. That passion for community and connection is a big part of why I care so much about building spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and excited to log in.

I first joined Ex Inferno in July 2023 and quickly became involved in recruitment, bringing players in through my existing Facebook recruitment group. What started as helping the guild grow turned into something much bigger. Today, I am proud to serve as Guild Master and to lead Team Purple as its founder.

Team Purple was built with intention. It is not just about clearing content. It is about building a team and a culture that people can trust, commit to, and feel proud to be part of.

Raid Leader

Vuskar Character Image

Name: Vuskar

Class: Death Knight

Role: Tank

I've been playing World of Warcraft since Vanilla in early 2005 and have been on and off through the expansions. Horde main through and through, I made my current main, Vuskar, at the launch of Wrath of the Lich King.

I began raiding seriously in Dragonflight, serving first as Assistant Raid Leader and then as Raid Leader through all three tiers, earning AOTC each season. I joined Ex Inferno with The War Within, starting on Team Black with Sicnus before shifting to Team Purple in Undermine. I have exclusively tanked throughout AOTC progression, with the exception of the first two tiers of The War Within.

I am very relaxed and genuinely enjoy helping people learn. My only real pet peeve is when people do not feel comfortable asking questions. If you are wondering something, chances are someone else is too, and I always want this to be a space where people feel safe speaking up.

Raid Leader

Buffmeharder Character Image

Name: Cyttorak

Class: Monk

Role: DPS/Flex Tank

I have been playing World of Warcraft since 2011, starting about three months into Cataclysm. I was convinced to play by a few roommates while I was in the Army.

Over the years, I have raided in every role and have earned AOTC in almost every expansion except Warlords of Draenor.

My leadership style is fairly blunt and straightforward. We are all adults here and we know what we should and should not be doing. I do not generally approach situations with kid gloves, but I am always focused on keeping the team moving forward.

Raid Assist

Bear Character Image

Name: Bear

Class: Shaman

Role: Healer

I started playing World of Warcraft in 2008 during Burning Crusade after a buddy from Geezer Gamers told me about the game. I played and raided consistently until near the end of Mists of Pandaria, when life got a little too busy while I was in grad school. I returned in 2018 with Legion and found my way to Ex Inferno.

During Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm, I raided as a healer in 10-man content. Since returning in 2018, I have earned 12 Ahead of the Curve achievements, almost always as a healer. When I am not healing in raid, you can usually find me healing in Mythic+.

From a leadership perspective, I am always open to sitting down and looking at logs with anyone who is frustrated or wants to improve. There are so many great tools available now to review performance and identify opportunities to grow.

As far as raid nights go, I like starting on time and I like getting bosses dead. An upbeat attitude and positive vibes go a long way. I would not say I am sweaty. Maybe a little moist.

How We Work Together

Team Purple leadership operates as a unit. We communicate regularly, share responsibility, and support one another behind the scenes so raid nights can stay focused and enjoyable. Disagreements are handled privately and respectfully, and decisions are made with the long-term health of the team in mind.

This structure allows us to stay organized, responsive, and consistent while still remaining approachable and human.

What Leadership Handles So You Can Just Raid

Raid nights go better when the behind-the-scenes work is done before anyone zones in. Team Purple leadership handles the planning, coordination, and communication that keeps the team running smoothly, so our raiders can focus on playing their role, improving, and having a good time.

Here is what we take care of as a team:

  • Raid preparation and weekly planning:We review upcoming encounters, confirm strategy updates, and make sure the team is ready before we pull.
  • Roster management and coverage:We track attendance, manage absences, and plan for role coverage so raid nights stay consistent and we do not waste time scrambling.
  • Recruitment and trials:We actively recruit to keep the roster healthy, coordinate trials, and ensure new players are set up for success and integrated the right way.
  • Assignments and coordination:We handle mechanics assignments, cooldown planning, and role expectations so everyone knows what they are responsible for.
  • Communication and updates:We keep information clear and centralized so people are not guessing, chasing answers, or missing key details.
  • Support and improvement:We help players improve through constructive feedback, log review when needed, and guidance that is focused on solutions, not blame.
  • Onboarding and team alignment:We make sure new members understand expectations, team culture, and how we operate so they can settle in quickly and feel confident.
  • Maintaining a healthy environment:We step in when necessary to protect the vibe of the team. Respectful communication is the baseline, and we take that seriously.

Our goal is simple. Show up prepared, run an efficient raid night, and build a team people actually want to be part of long term.

Our Commitment to a Healthy Raid Environment

Team Purple is built on respect, maturity, and accountability. We are here to progress, improve, and enjoy the game together. That only works when people feel safe, supported, and treated well.

Toxic behavior is not tolerated on this team. That includes harassment, passive aggressive comments, public shaming, talking over others, disrespectful communication, or bringing negativity into raid. We do not excuse poor behavior because someone does good damage. How you treat people matters here.

We believe feedback should be constructive, private when appropriate, and focused on solutions. We do not tear people down. We help each other get better. Mistakes happen. Wipes happen. Learning is part of progression. How we handle those moments defines the kind of team we are.

Leadership actively protects the raid environment. If something is creating tension, discomfort, or disruption, we address it. Not to embarrass, not to posture, but to keep the team healthy and focused. Our goal is always resolution, not escalation.

We also value inclusive communication. Everyone deserves space to speak, ask questions, and be heard. We expect people to be mindful of how much space they take up and how their tone impacts others. This is a shared space, and we treat it that way.

At the end of the day, Team Purple is a place people should look forward to logging into. If you want to raid in an environment that is organized, supportive, and free of unnecessary drama, you will fit in well here.

Part of the Ex Inferno Community

Team Purple is proud to be part of Ex Inferno, a long-standing, established gaming community that has been active in World of Warcraft since 2007. We are not a pop-up raid team and we are not a short-term project. We are built on years of leadership, structure, and community-first values.

Ex Inferno is an 18+ community founded on respect, inclusivity, and shared responsibility. Those values are not just words on a slide. They shape how we lead, how we recruit, and how we treat each other. Team Purple operates in full alignment with these principles, and our leadership team takes that responsibility seriously.

Being part of Ex Inferno means access to a much larger network of players, events, and support. Our raiders benefit from an active Mythic+ community, cross-team events, alt runs, social nights, and a wide range of community-driven activities. You are not joining a single raid team. You are joining a home.

We also work closely with Ex Inferno leadership to ensure consistency across teams, shared standards, and a unified community experience. This allows us to maintain stability, uphold expectations, and provide a level of structure that smaller or isolated guilds simply cannot offer.

Team Purple reflects the best of what Ex Inferno stands for. Strong leadership. Clear expectations. Mutual respect. A place where people can push content while still enjoying the game and the people they play with.
